I checked my '08 Sahara JKU on a trip from Ottawa to North Carolina (almost 5000 km) and the mileage was consistently 17 mpg US, which converts to 13.8 litres per 100 km. I've noticed that he doesn't like stop and go traffic and drinks a little more if I take him to the office :)

That sounds about right. I have a 2011 JKU and if we drive from the GTA to Ottawa or futher I can get anywhere from 10-13 ltr/100km, but in town it can be around 14-18 ltr/100km all depends on stop and go and driving styles. I will admit I've never driven a vehicle that can be so random in it's mileage. I do still love my Jeep either way!!

That's way to high. Im running 4.5" lift and 35's. Mine is 15/L per 100kms. That's combined.

I was getting 15-16l per 100km, on the highway. I changed my leaking exhaust manifold and I'm now 10 -12L per 100km on the highway. In the city around 13-14L per 100km. I also have the hypertec programmer regular tune. Running 33 and 3.5 inch lift.
In the city try turning your OD off.

Just fueled up the rubicon again and got 315 km on 64 liters wich still is only 12-13 miles to a gallon or just over 20 liters per 100 km i only have 41,000 km on it and it runs great dont think i need a tune up,the only thing i can think of is its real cold here and i do let it warm up 10-15 min before driving my daughter to school every morning and there is little to no hightway miles

I think you really just answered your own question. The 3.8L is not as good as the new 3.6L, cold weather, burning up gas letting it warm up, winter fuel, mainly city driving.... I think that about answers it. Sorry I couldn't give you better news but tough it out and the summer will be a bit easier for you.

I have a 2011 2 dr sport. It definitely is alcoholic! Drinks way too much!
I have changed all fluids in the Jeep to Amsoil Synthetic.
FR & RR diff, trans and motor. Keep tires at 35 - 37 lbs
Under 80km I do about 25+ mpg,
Under 100Km. I do about 21 - 22mpg. Over 100km I get about 18 - 20mpg.
I use cruise all the time. Wind in my face changes everything.
I also find that in city if I can get it into 5th gear I get the best mileage
.
If you are letting it idle for 15 minutes, say goodby to gas mileage!
If you are automatic I don't think you will do so well either.
Rubicon diff ratios are higher than all the other models.
X and Sport, Sahara have 3.21 std - Sahara with tow 3.73 - Rubicon 4.21 std.
The higher the ratio the higher the revs in all gears = more fuel at all times.

I thought this was a cdn site? What's with the mpg?

FYI rubicons have 4:10's.

On a side note my rubi that had no lift and 35's got better gas mileage then my wife's bone stock Sahara.
