2011 Jeep Wranger Trailer Wireing
can anyone confirm if the 2011 Jeep Wrangler's have a wire harness from the factory that you can just clip into? I was told there is a factory harness at the rear some where. I briefly had a look but coudln't find anything.

thanks. No I don't have the two package but somome said jeeps are mostly wired. what I mean is on my old vehicle I had to wired a power wire right from the battery to the back and tape into my rear tail lights on both sides. My understanding is jeeps have this pre wired and there is a connection somewhere underneth near the rear. I will have to crawl under there and have a peek.

I tried to follow the wire to see if it had a connection closer to the rear of the Jeep but no luck.
I installed a harness on a past vehicle I owned and all I needed to do was piggy back the harness wires and ground it to the frame.

The connection is behind the drivers side taillight. You must remove the taillight to get at the plug.

Ya, buy a wiring harness for about $55. Remove the drivers side tail light, disconnect the wiring connector for it. Add in the new harness and reassemble taillight. I chose to remove the stupid floating foam plugs below both taillights, seal the openings with tape and aluminum flashing and then shoot in that foam-in-a can stuff. Don't use too much, especially around the fuel filler pipe breather. I built my own hitch receiver for $12, (Found factory one & took measurements) only because they wanted $250 for it at the dealer. Use the same bolts to mount it as those that hold on the hook - might have bought one more. Oh! polish all metal parts before assembly, then let it rust so you can't rub it off. Assemble and paint with rust-mort so it goes black, then paint with your choice of colours.
