Canada WJ - How to fix your window regulator

Well for those of you with a WJ you may have your window regulator fail. mainly due to the plastic cable slider breaking. you cant by the little part to my knowledge..the dealer will want you to buy the whole regulator with motor! I didnt even want to price it.

here is how I fixed it. quite simple really. if you have some mechanical ways then you would likely have done it yourself. this either helps to you get to the end of your means sooner or helps you entirely.

1. this is your regulator

2. this is the typical piece that breaks.

3. first grind flat to metal frame.

4. drill pilot hole for a self tapping screw.
5. put in screw with large flat washer.

6. get cable back in place. should be tight. I had to take apart pulley to rewind the cable around pulley to get it to function again
7. after you fix slider and rewind the cable onto pulley internally on motor than test it in door prior to putting it all back together.

hope I saved you some time and money. later
