Changed the headlight bulbs, got PIAA's. OK, I guess. HID's are the way to go in my opinion, both on the truck and in the grow room. Getting winter tires Monday, looking at Blizzaks, any comments?

Picked up the other caliper, and got all the new parts on, brakes bled, etc...

Next: Find out what is causing my other woes...

In case any of you have run into this before, here's what's happening:

When accelerating (Mostly half throttle and above) the Jeep revs up to about 3000 - 3500 RPM then won't shift and engine RPM won't climb any higher. Feel's like it's bogged down at that point. It'll sit at 50ish k/hr and just sound like it's "chugging" along at that engine speed regardless of how much more throttle is applied . The engine revs up through the entire RPM range nicely when in neutral, so it seems to me that it must be either transmission or computer related. Possibly something to do with the torque converter? A bad sensor? Clogged Valve body? The transmission fluid looks "fairly" clean, although it should be changed before too long, and it doesn't smell burnt or anything like that.

As I said, this happens while under load (ie. acceleration) and isn't really noticeable until over 30 or 40 k/hr.

Any ideas?

Almost sounds like it's puting itself in limp mode. Are there any codes showing. If not I'd say the transmission gov solenoid or the pressure solenoid.

Blizzaks' are good, have used them before. If you can find a set for a good price I prefer the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow.

No codes...Just a lot of effort for little gain. It's almost like if I was keeping a foot on the break as my other foot was on the gas...

check the fluid level and disconnect the battery for a minute... and try it again...

i've had similar symtoms when my jeep wouldn't downshift 2nd -1st... moments before coming to a stop, but still moving id i manually selected 1st gear, it would make the downshit and i could accellerate normally.

this was all when my fluid levels were too low.

Either that or your new brake pads are way to tight... :)

Fluid is good, and I can turn the wheels by hand, so it's not the brakes. I had had the battery out and back in again and it didn't change anything...

I may have to bite the bullet and limp it over to a tranny shop to get a better diagnosis....Cuz my knowledge about transmissions is fairly general...

Is it doing this constantly or just for awhile then starts driving normally?
If it's just when your starting out the torque converter may be draining down, which would be caused by the transmission check valve not working or sticking.

It's pretty consistent. It started a couple of weeks ago when I was heading out on a road trip. Luckily I didn't get too far and was able to turn around and come home and grab the wife's car. Since then, I haven't gone further then around the block because of this issue.
