Mileage between the 4.0 and V8's are pretty much the same regardless of what T/C is in it.
The 242/ 231's are a popular choice since they give you have the choice of what range your in.
My 04 has a 4.0L with the 247 and I've had no problems getting to where I want to go, it's got lots of low end torque for offroading.

Hello everyone!! I am new to the forum and I am looking for some advice here, I used to have a 2000GC limited which l Loved it. Now I own a maxima 2000 love the power but it is not a SUV ( you know what I mean) Anyways, I can get a 2002 GC limited ( all the options, I think V8, 4.1L, quandra trac II, etc.) for a good price the only problem is that it has 160.000 Kilometers (100.000 miles), I have been away from the Jeep world for a while and I am not sure if that is too much?? test drive was fine, fells great!! what should I do???
For you guys that own 2002 how many kms or miles on them? any expensive repairs? and fuel economy (something to worry in winter time??)

Ps. when I drove it, ( first time I drive a 4wd) when I turned the steering wheel all the way to either side, the car won't move?? well it does but kind of weird; like if someone was pushing it? is that normal with 4wd.
