Hey Guys
Looking at buying a Jeep found a 1995 YJ.
2.5L 5spd stick soft and hard tops.Looked at it in the evening everything looked ok, but is there anything in particular a guy should look at. Would like some input.

 

As with any vehicle, make sure that you know what you are getting. Check fluids, check bushings, check for rusting, check for accident damage, check for 4-wheel-drive (not just the light on the dash, but that is a good indicator), check for the doors closing properly (again, accident damage), check over any mods that may have been done (you don't want farmer mods on it - clean bolt-on's are great, or properly welded ones) .. and always get a safety inspection done.
Also Modifications to the Jeep do not increase or decrease the overall value of the Jeep. In general visiting Kelly Blue Book will give you a good starting point for buying or selling a Jeep.

check frame by rear leaf springs and stearing box

 

the 4 cyl is underpowered .....if you intend to do do some hyghway ..forget it !

even on 31" you wont be able to use the 5th gear ......

if driven in town great !

buy cheap !

 

check frame condition for rust or patch....

Everything looks good.
Now to start collecting parts for the project
