Body lift
Just bought a 92 yj and would like to install a 1in body lift but the thread on installing a lift never talked about what you have to do to the steering colum to compencate for the lift. Anyone done this type of lift and what problems did you have? Thanks.

Re: Body lift
I could be wrong but I don't believe u have to do anything. Its only a 1 inch lift now if your going like 3 in plus then I'd be inclined to worry a little about the steering/fuel funnel. Wait and see what other replies you get.

Re: Body lift
if the steering or fuel filler needs extending the parts will come with the kit but at one inch dont think you need to do anything. you can do a one inch body lift using hockey pucks add one puck to each body mount

Re: Body lift
x2 on thje walmart pucks, didnt use them on my TJ but have used them on a few other vehicles.a person can also cut short pieces of 3 inch exhaust pipe and press the pucks into it to make sure the pucks dont crack, time consuming, over 20 years have only had one puck let go and have never pressed into exhaust pipe on my stuff

Re: Body lift
The factory YJ steering shaft has a slip in it so nothing is required. However they can sometimes be seized which will create an issue. The reason for this slip is to allow it to collapse in the case of an accident. While you are checking it out check the joints on the shaft as these are a common area for wear.
Another tip with a YJ start spraying the body bolts now to make them easier to take out.
