Default Ugly rims

Howdy! Its been a while since I was on here, but I finally got a new puter and am running windows 7, which I'm not crazy about btw. Site has changed its look a bit eh?

Anyway, my 08 JK Sahara's beautiful big shiny rims certainly have lost their glitter in only a few years. They cracked the clear coat where they attached the weights to them. I'm NOT impressed with how these aluminum alloys decompose. I've checked around, and other than another set, all I can find are chromies. My question is: Why don't they make nice steel powder coated wheels for jeeps? I have an '89 F150 and the OE powder coated wheels are almost as good as new.

Thanks for listening! Sorry if this is a re-run! I'll check for feedback later. - Chasmoe.

Never tried it but other folks seem to have good luck with Plasti-dip spray on coating. Comes in multiple
colours, I have a can of yellow waiting to do some parts, but not the wheels. Even if you just mask off
just the rim's bead area (the pealing) and do an "accent" colour to match your paint. Might cure the problem.
