Default winches

Hi All,
I am getting ready to buy a winch before hunting season, and I have it narrowed down to the Smittybilt XRC-8, the mile marker SEC8 and the superwinch Gen2 LP8500.

Does anyone have any experiences or knowledge with any of these, good or bad?

I don't plan on doing any serious winching as it is more of a just in case tool.

If yu can get a synthetic winch rope instead of the usual cable this would be the way to go. First no need to worry about a small pc of wire going thur your glove and into your finger (hurts like H..) a cable if it break it can remove anything in its path (always hang a carpet/jacket on the cable) I have a Superwinch 8500 have it for years now, works well, but next one will be with a rope. Plus the winch is much lighter

I have the XRC8 as a " just in case" have yet to use it tho, it looks awsome too... but just the same, the superwinch is around 399.99 at canadian tire??? i paid 480.00 for my XRC delivered to the shop. Easy as pie to install also.

I picked up my superwinch from quadratec in USA and had it shipped to my USA address (it is great living on a border town). It is on sale for $299 plus $50 for shipping. The border guy must of been having a great day as he did not haul me in to pay taxes.

Went hunting up north for a week and didn't even get a chance to use it!! :(

Winches are great to have when you are wheelin' and best if you never have to use it except to pull out the other guy. :')
