been driving mine with out doors or mirriors in alberta never been pulled over never had a problem i only worry when in bc

FYI all...Looks like in both provinces its legal to drive without side mirrors...but you must have a rear view mirror - with unobstructed view.....so if you have a trailer in tow...you'll have to have your side mirrors in place..I couldn't find anything in regards to doors...but I've never had a prob :banana:

In BC Mirrors
7.04 (1) Subject to subsections (3) and (4), every motor vehicle shall be equipped with an inside mirror that provides the driver with an undistorted reflected view of the highway directly to the rear of the vehicle extending to the horizon from a point on the road surface not more than 61 m behind the vehicle.

(2) In addition to the requirements of subsections (1) and (3), every motor vehicle manufactured after January 1, 1973 shall be equipped with an outside mirror on the driver's side that provides the driver with an undistorted reflected view of the adjacent lane of the highway rearward to the horizon from a point on the road surface 11 m behind the driver.

(3) Where the inside mirror of a motor vehicle does not provide the view required by subsection (1), the vehicle shall be equipped with a second outside mirror on the side of the vehicle opposite the driver and in that case the inside mirror may be removed.

(4) Where a trailer or semitrailer in a combination of vehicles diminishes the driver's reflected rear view through the rear view mirrors required by subsections (1) to (3), the towing vehicle in the combination of vehicles shall be equipped with 2 mirrors, one affixed to each side of the motor vehicle, and each to provide the driver with an undistorted reflected view of the adjacent lane of the highway from a point on the road surface 11 m behind the driver to a point on the road surface 61 m from the rear of the combination of vehicles.

For Alberta, that is correct. I went to the local cop shop and talked to the desk Sgt. He pulled up the Law Book and said the same thing. As long as your Vehicle has EITHER side mirrors OR rear view your legal. I talked the RCMP and told me the same thing.

Now, rolling down the highway, doors off and you roll, thats your call. Your right Jeep did make the doors removable, their intent was not to be used on highway, but for off-road ~

Would not EVERY vehicle ever made have doors that were removable if that were not true??

I was stopped once to just make sure my seat belts worked and i had my mirrors . That was it .
Lucky , maybe ? . Or ?? And this was a rcmp . (i had the doors off ) . And to this day , I take my doors all 4 of em off .

If the Jeep with the doors of the factory, you need it. On the other hand I see a truck, TJ, etc. moving out of the house. You bet. Check the number of messages of bc4x4.com

One thing that I noticed the other day. The sticker above the rear view mirror. It states that the top and doors are ONLY to provide protection from THE ELEMENTS! so if they don't provide protection from impact, then why do we need them by law?

If I knew how to post a pic i would post one of the sticker for all to see!
