Yet another gauge question: CJ

I hate beating this dead horse but...am I to understand that the jumper
between the fuel and temp is to get the power over from the fuel to the temp
gauge? And if this is the case,...if the fuel gauge is bad, will it send
power to the temp gauge? In otherwords,..if the fuel gauge goes bad, does
the temp gauge then also fail to read?

Re: Yet another gauge question: CJ

Hi Allen,
The jumper is just a simple way to run power form you ignition
switch to both gauges, it doesn't go through one gauge to get to the
other. Then the each detects how much resistance between it and ground,
via their respective sending units.

I don't think so Bill. There is a regulaor of sorts inside the cluster that
regulates the 12V ignition down to 5VDC.

Re: Yet another gauge question: CJ

Interesting, must be something left over from the six volt battery
days. What they're calling a regulator is actually a breaker switch,
unless there's a primary, secondary coil in there some place.
