I don't know why it would, the only window sensors I know of are
used in tailgates where it will not allow an idiot to open it until it
is all the way down and out of the way. Of course, you may use your
imagination and put one in the following pages:

The motor in the window regulator has a nylon gear in it, and when it
gets worn out
it makes the sound just like you are describing, evently it will do it
when you put the
window up. You will need to replace the regulator, about $100 from the
dealership,

with my XJ - ever. Both front window regulators have already been
replaced once.
