It's the gas cap. Period! You will find a little condensation rust
stain around the center vent hole. Replace it.
And the code would have been the same on a PT Cruiser:

If it turns out not to be the gas cap my "P0442" was a minute crack in a
hose. Couldn't find it. The dealer (mine at least) has a smoke generator
that will spot the leak.
