Re: XJ eating fuel pumps
I would think in the evolution of Darwin's microbial organisms
they'd be touch. I don't think I'd siphon any gas out of that tank.

Re: XJ eating fuel pumps
Yeah, I've heard of bacteria that can, if let go, cause problems for
diesel tanks, filters and engines, but never heard of anything like that
in plain gasoline. If the dealer is installing brand new pumps everytime
like they say they are, there is something in the tank or they've got a
whole batch of bad pumps. I can't believe whatever it is isn't apparent
to the mechanic after installing 3 or more pumps. It's gotten me
curious now.

Re: XJ eating fuel pumps
Maybe they are living on the sugar his ex-wife put in the
tank? As for gasoline, feh, a veritable sun drenched beach
for bacteria. There are bugs that live in concentrated
sulfuric acid, at temperatures well above 300 F, in arsenic
solutions that would kill every bachelor in San Diego, etc.
and even some that live a coupla miles down in the crust.
