the ABS light so I guess it was removed to cover up a fault, I have had the
car for about 3 months.
In the UK if a system is fitted it must work and the Tester says the light
is part of that system. Might have to find another tester.

Well, the '93 didn't have the Bedix system, and the new system disables
itself if there is a fault, but the brakes work normally if the ABS is
disabled, as you've been told many many times.
