XJ ABS
Hi
My 1993 4ltr RHD XJ Cherokee has just failed its annual safety inspection because the ABS dash light doesn't come on and then extinguish when the key is turned on. It is off all the time. The ABS relay in the PDC clicks at ign on and the fuses are ok I checked the fault code and got a number of 55 which I think indicates end of codes. Any ideas what the problem is? could it be just a blown bulb?, a friend in the car business says that is unlikely Thanks Barry |
Re: XJ ABS
Since ABS is not mandated by any state or the federal government, how
can they fail your vehicle because the ABS light doesn't go on? Aferall, the ABS light wouldn't go on then off when the key is turned on if your XJ didn't have ABS. That's to test the bulb. If you have the schematics you could tap the lamp feed and see if it is getting power. I suspect you have a blown bulb. -- DougW |

The only RHD XJ in the U.S. is a postal Jeep. Barry (according to the IP) is in England where they have probably some annoying vehicle laws. :) -- DougW |
