We only needed a 13 mm 12 point socket wrench to do this one. Oh and
the 36 mm axle nut wrench to get the big nut which we can 'borrow' from the parts store. Something similar happened to my bf a little while back- although it's
probably under different circumstances but his tire fell off too, after the mechanic said he 'fixed' the wheel. He was about to take a turn onto the freeway when it happened! The next year he went to a different mechanic because his driver's seat broke and he couldn't make the darned seat back stay up any longer. He had an appoitment that afternoon, but when the guy looked at it, he said he didn't have the right part to fix it, but offered a temporary fix so he could drive it until the part came in- he actually offered to put a BOARD propped up on the back seat floor and against his seat!!! Can you even imagine?? What if he got into an accident?? I can't even begin to think of what other quick fixes that mechanic has come up with. Needless to say, my bf high-tailed it out of there. Now you tell us, after the guy's tire falls off and rolls over ten times, decapitating him.
