I have a '96 GC Laredo 4wd with a 4.0 that has 164k on it. My question is,
are there any good websites showing how to replace the front wheel bearings?

It's very likely a unit-bearing hub which is a bolt-on one-piece
assembly. At least Wranglers use that kind of hub and I'm fairly
certain the '97 JGC does too. It's not a difficult job at all, I've
replaced 1 or 2 of them. Local auto parts stores sell them for $130-140
or so.

The 95 uses the hub and wheel bearing assembly, would be surprised if
the 97 was that different.
