33k US?!?!? OMG, I'd rather spend $3000 on an old CJ and drop $30,000 into
turning it into something that would crawl over my house. How fun would that
be? "Hi, ya ...that's my Jeep. Wanna go for a ride? I think I'm going
house-crawling today. Any neighbours you hate?"

Re: unlimited rubi on ebay
They don't make the Unlimited with half doors. Don't know if they are going
to or not. I've driven TJs with full doors, but I can't get comfortable in
them. The half door provides a more natural arm rest than the full door. I
guess I could talk a swap with the stealership, but why go through that
hassle. Now that I think about it, until D/C does something about the
passanger side floor turning into a foot-cooking hot plate, I won't be
buying any TJ. I rode in the passanger side of a TJ for a 3 hour trip and
about half way through I couldn't put my feet on the floor. I remember
reading a post about someone's laptop being ruined by the catalytic
converter too (which is mounted directly under the passanger's feet).
If I was going to use it just for playing, I'd definitely go for the $2000
CJ w/ butt-loads of mods, but this is my only vehicle. I don't have the
money nor the space to afford more than one vehicle. Would you Jeep
"purists" not agree that the Unlimited Rubicon is the best choice for
interior cabin space, off-road performance and mod-ability, reliability
(both on and off road), and longevity?
It may be expensive, but I plan on doing like my Poppa. He bought a YJ brand
new in 93. He still has it and drives it daily everywhere with no plans to
sell or trade it anytime soon (I used to pester him to sell it to me all the
time). Well, he would drive it daily if he wasn't in Kuwait right now. But I
digress.

But I
digress.

Re: unlimited rubi on ebay
I think the full doors are ther better choice 90% of the time, especially at
the drive thru window. If you really want the half doors, then get a set of
Baja Doors. These are similar to half doors, but are a wire frame that is
covered with canvas. Then, watch eBay for half doors to go on auction.
