Then if I were you I'd test your front end by turning one wheel by
hand, to confirm your Tru-Trac is worn out.

You really do have no clue about how a tru-trac is built. They don't
have clutches to wear out like older LSD designs did; if one was worn
bad enough not to function the first clue would most likely be the
grinding noises coming from the front end...
