Do you know for sure that they used different castings for the same case?

I'd put money one it. What makes you think they would put the
number 904 on a 999 case?

It's the same exact case. Car makers and suppliers are not known for doing
things twice for the same result. I think its a 904 as well, but I've never
seen a 999, so I'm looking for someone who has that can say for sure they're
marked 999....
