tj rubicon with old man emu
hi,
My name is dave and i'm a jeep-a-holic. I recently got my second jeep
and decided to go ahead with the rubicon. It seemed to be more of the
jeep i wanted my last one to become. I liked the bigger tires, the
extra height and the dana 44's. I also don't mind roughing it up a
little.
I recently decided to order a OME kit after i rode in a buddies range
rover with them in it. I plan on installing the kit with the help of a
few buddies.
I know that we can install this no problem but am not sure about the
problems if any that i might encounter. i was hoping that some one out
there may be willing to answer a few questions form me.
1)I heard that i do not need a transfer case lowering kit because it
has a slip yoke elim. Is that true?
2) I hope to put 33's on the rubi, would a 1inch coil spacer or 1 inch
body lift kit allow me to do this?
3) If so, would i need a motor mount lift?
4) Do you feel that either lifts would create driveline vibrations?
5) I know about the panhard and plan on using it... or should i just
dish out the cash for front and rear trackbars?
is there any thing else i really need to know?
Thanks in advance i look forward to your advise/s.
oh yeah my g/f is 4'11'' do you think she might need to hop into my
jeep. that would be great;)

Figure about 7 hours and 1 1/2 cases of beer.

Yes. On Rubi's we /raise/ the transfer case!.

it already has 31's, a 2.5" OME should allow 33's. Watch backspacing in
the rear.

1" MML and 1" BL are common (Almost a standard upgrade) for Rubi's.

It's variable, some do, some don't. If it does, pick up some adlustable
lower control arms and tweek it out. also consider a CV rear driveshaft.

Look at a engine skid and a better transmission skid to replace the
shovel. Consider a tummy tuck. Short arms are good for up to about 4" of
suspension lift.

Checkout www.rubiconownersforum.com Much model specific information and
no blowhards telling you that you do not have a real Jeep.

Have a look at the inverted rock rails. They can work as a step, but
hopping and/or helping is permitted. Also, consider spacers under her
seat. The 1" skid spacers that lift kits come with are ideal. Just pick
up some longer grade 8 bolts.
