The tires have a larger diameter, therefore a larger circumference. For
each rotation of the tire you will traveling farther. Therefore, for any
given speedometer reading, the larger tires will cause you to travel faster
than smaller tires would. Tell you neighbor to read his high school
geometry and physics books.

The tires have a larger diameter, therefore a larger circumference. For

I recently put 31x10.5 BFG AT/KOs on my 2002 TJ/X (and they do not rub, no
mater how hard I try to get them to). According to my GPS, I travel at 63.8
mph when my speedometer reads 60. The GPS is very accurate when in motion.
