Re: Throwout Bearing??
Phew. My brand new Luk bearing has been making bad noises for about a year
now, and I have not got around to looking at it yet. Has not got worse,
just not any better. Now I feel better, I figure that the worst that could
be happening is I would be ruining a bad bearing.

Re: Throwout Bearing??
For some reason my ISP cut off the first message so I don't know exactly
what sound your dealing with, but recently I started hearing a sort of
metallic squeal that sounded like it was coming from the clutch.
While I would have rather fixed it myself I just didn't have time and
took it in. They told me it was the throwout bearing (which I had
already figured out), but also that it was a good thing I'd brought it
in when I did as the bearing had cracked, and if I'd kept driving it it
would have messed up the input shaft on the transmission.
Unless you are really sure what is going on I'd fix it before it gets a
lot worse and a lot more trouble and money to fix!

would have messed up the input shaft on the transmission.
Unless you are really sure what is going on I'd fix it before it gets a
lot worse and a lot more trouble and money to fix!

what sound your dealing with, but recently I started hearing a sort of
metallic squeal that sounded like it was coming from the clutch.
