That only proves that both the shocks and the swaybar must be
disconnected to remove the springs. It doesn't tell anything about
which is the limiter.

Re: Are their any tricks for installing a 2" coil spacer in a TJ?
I unbolted the shock and we stood on the brake drum.
The spring would not fall out and the shock did not fall out of it's
bracket.
Put jack under axle and undid anti-sway bar link. Axle came down with
jack and the shock came out of it's bracket, then the spring fell out.
DC might be some things Bill, but it's engineers aren't stupid. They
know 'short shocking' something will lead to damage, especially
something that uses it's given articulation.

True, but the shock should not allowed the sway bar to become
taught. Without the dampening of the shock the sway bar will be yanked
out by the roots.

I will try again...
I unbolted the shock and we stood on the brake drum.
The spring would not fall out and the shock did not fall out of it's
bracket.
Put jack under axle and undid anti-sway bar link. Axle came down with
jack and the shock came out of it's bracket, then the spring fell out.
