Tahoe vs. JGC - help!

Re: Tahoe vs. JGC - help!
Ya, but using that rationale, when DO you buy an all new model
vehicle? I've heard that 'never buy the first model year' argument
before, and the fact is that often certain problems still exist three
or four years later. It just doesn't wash IMO. Unless you want to sit
on the fence until the middle or end of a production run that is, but
that's a lotta waitin' hehehe. Look at the 97-99 Wranglers... they
pretty much all exhibit the same 'problems' (exhaust manifold and
instrument cluster come to mind). If you were in the market for a new
vehicle back in 96, would you wait until 2000 to buy your Wrangler in
that case (and end up with the noisy-in-neutral 5sp manual
transmission as a trade off)? :)

Right, and sometimes the "fixes" don't fix the problems. Also, some of
the "new and improved" changes during the model runs present their own
new problems. Unless it's a relative disaster like the 84 Corvette, I'd
wait a few months to make sure nothing glaring rears up and then jump in
with both feet...but that's just me.

I'd probably wait until the second year - and in the case of Chrysler, keep
my fingers crossed. Although the '84 Vette is a good example of my
"rationale". And I have two friends with Trailblazers who are not happy
campers either.

The Trailblazer and the Blazette it replaced were always a POS, not a
case of a new design with temporary flaws, just a case of crap on
wheels. I wouldn't tell your friends to hold their breath waiting on
improvements.
