Re: Steering box leak
Hi Jim,
Yes, as Mike has already attested to. But why? The kit comes with
the sector shaft seal, too. Go barrow an pitman arm puller and do it
right, on the bench. You'll probably save an hour going through the
contortions trying to get that little snap ring out that backs up the
steering shaft seal, anyway.

Re: Steering box leak
Hi Bill,
(sorry for the multiple posts... not intentional... trouble with server)
If I pull the box off (which will require removal of winch, maybe fan
shroud, radiator, sway-bar, hoses, drag link....) I will put on a re-built
unit. I just though if I could change the input seal while in-place and
only remove the steering shaft.....

Re: Steering box leak
Hi Jim,
I can be done, but I think you'll be makeing more work for
yourself. Kind of reminds me I used to change water pumps on full
accessory cars like Cadillacs, without removing the radiator as the flat
rate called for. One, I had to re do, as I couldn't see the gasket I
screwed up, but then I was young and stupid.
