Ah, memories! Had a 36 Chevy club coupe with a shift you had to reach
UP to use - must have been 3 feet long! Leave the radio on and it
would drain the battery in 30 minutes.

Yep, but the vibrator it used to step the voltage up for the plates
was the bigger draw. All that on a 6 volt battery - you could see the
lights dim to the beat on a good CW station, even with the generator
going flat out. Part of the "good old days". Even the surplus MBs
looke more up-to-date but I couldn't afford the $4-500 they were
bringing then.
