1998 FSM page 7-30
New serpentine belt = 180 to 200 lbs
Used serpentine belt = 140 to 160lbs
Belt is considered New if used 15 minutes or less
Purchased a serpentine belt tester (Gates #91132) from parts store for
$13.16 serpentine tester is different then v-belt tester)
too tight & bearings go bad - too loose & belt slips, squeals, wears out,
etc...........more better to spend $13.16........
