That is how I read it, that is how Bill read it, that is how Roy read
it, that is how Snow read it and that is how Paul read it because we
'all' came back with other suggestions of what you might have there
'other' than RTV.
What, did you think we all were fools or something?
If I had of thought for one second that you 'hadn't' tried the
suggestions yet, I certainly wouldn't have continued insisting that 'You
cannot have RTV there'. Why in the world would I or the rest of the
folks for that matter say that? I would have left the thread totally
alone until you had tried my suggestions. It would have made no sense
to continue.
I have been working professionally with silicones since the 70's and
know for sure how to remove the excess.
I should have called you on it immediately instead of being so damn
polite and the misunderstanding wouldn't have continued but I didn't
really want to get mixed up in Bill's troll post. Bill had reason to
call you because he read your post the same as I did.
I honestly figured at that point you were just fishing for ammo to try
and get a free paint job from some 4x4 shop. Really.
And if you hadn't intentionally tried to start another Off Topic diesel
flamefest with pointed insults to me about this thread, I wouldn't have
gone looking you up to find out where I insulted you in the past and
called your BS on this thread. I never would have come back here seeing
as you got it resolved. I just would have filed you away in my mind as
'chicken little' from 'the sky is falling' fame when reading future
posts from you and left it at that.

know for sure how to remove the excess.

That is how I read it, that is how Bill read it, that is how Roy read
it, that is how Snow read it and that is how Paul read it because we
'all' came back with other suggestions of what you might have there
'other' than RTV.

If I had of thought for one second that you 'hadn't' tried the
suggestions yet, I certainly wouldn't have continued insisting that 'You
cannot have RTV there'. Why in the world would I or the rest of the
folks for that matter say that? I would have left the thread totally
alone until you had tried my suggestions. It would have made no sense
to continue.

know for sure how to remove the excess.
I should have called you on it immediately instead of being so damn
polite and the misunderstanding wouldn't have continued but I didn't
really want to get mixed up in Bill's troll post. Bill had reason to
call you because he read your post the same as I did.
I honestly figured at that point you were just fishing for ammo to try
and get a free paint job from some 4x4 shop. Really.

gone looking you up to find out where I insulted you in the past and
called your BS on this thread. I never would have come back here seeing
as you got it resolved. I just would have filed you away in my mind as

I said I thought nothing would work without scratching. That's where the

Re: Removing RTV from Paint
I have figured that out now, but his "emphasis" on only that one word
with a pause after it sure led me to think otherwise at the time. If he
was quoting, all the suggestions were quotes so he should have had " on
each.

I have figured that out now, but his "emphasis" on only that one word
with a pause after it sure led me to think otherwise at the time. If he
was quoting, all the suggestions were quotes so he should have had " on
each.
