What kind of jeep? What kit did you get that gave you different width
springs than your stock ones? If your jeep was made for 3" springs (I'm
assuming they are leaf springs) and you want to install 3 1/2" springs, you
are going to have to change all the pads and brackets, the shackles,
probably some other miscellaneous stuff. Don't try to pry the brackets
wider.

1980 CJ5. Both the original and new springs are 3 inches. The additional
width is coming from the 1/4 inch lip on the new bushings (x2).
