Hi Ervin,
If it really is oil being forced out the seals, then clean your
Positive Crankcase Ventilation system, similar to this carburated YJ:

So it would be sufficient to re-torque the valve cover bolts? Or would you have
to R&R the valve cover gasket?

That depends if you used RTV or not. If not, then a retorque is fine,
if you used RTV and it is leaking, it has failed.
The cork gaskets are supposed to swell up so tightening it down again
'in the proper order' is usually fine.

That depends if you used RTV or not. If not, then a retorque is fine,
if you used RTV and it is leaking, it has failed.
The cork gaskets are supposed to swell up so tightening it down again
'in the proper order' is usually fine.
