Sheesh! You have hit on all of my maintenance lapses in, like, three posts.
You are making me look bad, and I can do that pretty well by myself.
My alternator has NEVER been in straight, and this has got to play hell on
the bearings, which in time will get to the armature, which can do what you
just said. Combine the sideways pull of the belts with the sand and pond
scum, and the alternator could easily be pissing and moaning.
Can I get one of you guys to stand Mrs. CRWLR on her head and shake some
coinage from her pockets? She is not going to like hearing this, especially
after the motorcycle brochures showed up at my house last night.
