Re: 1992 Jeep Air Conditioner Conversion
I did the exact same thing to my 90 xj. I had a shop put a vacuum on it and
they left they gauges on it for a few hours with no loss of vacuum. then i
got the conversion kit from wal mart and proceeded to convert it. then with
the engine running and the a/c turned on to max (leave doors open so a/c
won't shut off. mine took one can of oil and 5 cans of 134a. don't rely on
the sight glass. fill by pressure. that was a year and a half ago and it
still blows cold (just not as cold as r12)

Agreed, but you can get close with number of cans. If he is using the same
size cans that I do, five cans is three pounds, twelve ounces.
