Re: "power" tranny button
you are most fortunate in having an all-AMC cherokee; I had one myself, and
really miss it now.
The "power" button is for raising the shift-point, rpm-wise, when
accelerating under full throttle. My brand new AMC Comanche also has one,
and if I don"t use it for long periods of time, I have to flip it a few
times to clean the contacts...then it works ok. ; How do you know yours is
not working? ?

middle of the button doesn't light and it obviously doesn't do it's
thing...(ie. power up getting on the freeway or climbing a grade) if it is
hot out it works best.
