Re: PEARCE-SIMPSON 23channel CB radio w/antenna-ebay-$25
How many channels do you have ? CB-ing has declined massively, and is now
mainly a forum for agressive teenagers getting tough in front of their mike,
old tarts wanting to be mysterious and alluring, yobs who want to ****
everyone off by broadcasting their music, and a few asians running taxi
services (and no I'm not being racist). So, I dont listen to my
http://www.kcb.co.uk/80ch/48excel.htm 80 channel Midland unit except off
road - have a 80 channel portable handset as a spare.
The little PMR radios seem to be quite popular now.

Yeah, as some of the older ham radio units used to be have frequencies
in what is now citizens band. Nothing like an old 500 watt linear to
help reach out and ratchet jaw on channel 19.

Ahh, so the 80 ch can't be boosted as easily or something?
I have one wicked 23 CH Cobra that was set up to broadcast off a 40'
tower. I have done two way between Toronto and Martha's Vinyard and
regularly pick up some dude on the west coast.
I didn't think they much cared about CB's now.
When I was a kid, some Ham jerk always used to hassle us when we used
our walkie talkies. They were on CH 9.
