Patriot
I keep hearing about the Patriot. Reviews online, ads now online and
on TV. I've been wheeling through the local Jeep dealerships in the
(yet unsuccessful) hope to see a model sitting out back waiting to be
prepped and put on display in the showroom. Has anyone *seen* one
yet, let alone had a test drive?
I'd be interested to know about its towing capability, if any.

I saw one at the Chicago Auto Show. It is about the same size as the
old XJ,
but if I remember from what the Jeep people said, it only comes with
4cyl.
engine,2.0L or 2.4L. and is front wheel drive. I don't even think that
a tow-package
is available for it. I had asked about the possibility of it being a
towed vehicle,
(behind motorhome) and the answer on that is no.

From the Jeep website, the towing capacity of the Patriot is
"2000 lbs, when properly equipped".
Looking over the website, the $130 "Trailer Tow Prep Group"
consists of a Trailer Tow Wiring Harness and an Engine Oil Cooler.
It's not listed for the Sport model, only the Limited.

Re: Patriot
They just had the local auto show in Raleigh last weekend and I hoped to
see one, but they didn't have one.
Had some of the worlds oldest show cars though, including the Jeep
Hurricane.
The Detroit International Auto Show it wasn't!
