About two weeks ago I noticed the paint chipping off one of the
hardtop hinges. I also have a chip on the hood. Underneath, it looks
like chalky white. What's that? My '91 YJ had a few chips over the
years, but it was black underneath.
Jeep sales must be good, so much so that DC doesn't have to improve
on their product.

Chalky white is the undercoat. Got the same issues on my 93ZJ. :(

Chalky white is the undercoat. Got the same issues on my 93ZJ. :(

Yep. The paint peeled off my '02 TJ driver's side door handle. Replaced
under warranty last year.
