paint on door handle
 

On my 2001 TJ the paint is coming off of the passenger door handle, it is
actually peeling off. The dealership tells me that it is normal wear and
tear, the driver door handle is fine - go figure, the one that is not used
much is suffering from wear and tear. Also, the paint is coming off the
hard top, again just wear and tear. Is anyone on this list seeing these
problems with their TJs?

Hi John,

I had the same issue on my drivers door. I didn't make a big deal about it
but the service manager saw it and went ahead and replaced the handle. That
was just before the warrantee ended. I thing it's shoddy manufacturing, not
normal wear and tear. Depends on the stealership, for what it's worth.

mirrors and hardtop hinges. Very shoddy I think
for a 3 year old vehicle.

very normal for the paint to peel on handles and mirrors... bad design just
like the fenders.. you would think after 8 years they would realize their
poor craftmanship but all in all I love them!!
