For sake of clarity, crossing at Sarnia/Port Huron looks out-of-the-way but
is actually very close in time and milage as crossing at the Ambassodor
Bridge in Detroit.
I've also found the Tunnel to be a breeze... I've passed through on several
occasions with just a nod.

Any return trips will certainly NOT be via De-troit.
Perhaps my feelings are a reflection of my small town mid-western values.
No one living in here Hooterville would act in such a manner and no employer
or Village Official would tolerate it.
I mentioned that I had been to LA and NYC and did not expect to ever return.
I have also been to Miami and Chicago and treatment was similar.
Perhaps the residents in those cities look down upon Midwesterners for our
quaint and polite manners.
Perhaps they dislike us because we can properly pronounce common words.
Perhaps it is because people from the center of the country all speak the
same language and have basically similar (but also slightly varied) accents
which we refer to as having NO accent.
Perhaps it is because graduates of our public schools actually know how to
read and write.
Perhaps it is because Midwesterners recognize that peoples are diverse and
don't care what holidays you celebrate as long as you don't try to deny our
beliefs. After a while we will incorporate your celebrations into our lives
as well. Isn't that the true measure of diversity?
Note: politically incorrect comment ahead....
Perhaps it is because our lives are not dominated and controlled by the
unions, organized crime or other branches of the Demoncratic Party.
In the central bulk of America's states we still believe in God, the basic
concepts of right and wrong, and the golden rule.
Are things perfect here? No, but most of the citizens have goals that are
aimed in the same direction.
