Politics. If the Dems were in control of legistative and executive branches,
you better believe the Republicans would be AGAINST the Free Trade Area of
the Americas.

That's just stupid. Politicians are politicians...no matter which letter, R
or D, follows their name. Politicians care about two things first...making
money for their pet lobbies while they are in office (and themselves
indirectly) and staying in office as long as possible. If the people's
interest coincide with that, great, if not, well, look at gas prices today.
