You have, most likely, a dead short in the wire somewhere if it reads 80 psi
at all engine speeds and when the engine is off and the ignition on.
To check your "actual" oil pressure you need to temporarily install a
mechanical gauge in the system. Some auto parts stores will rent/lend you a
gauge with a small deposit.

My 00 Cherokee Did the same thing,it was not the sensor.
I found that if I turned the key to the off position then acc,then off again
the next time I started the engine the gauge worked for a few drive
cycles,its a short.

I found that if I turned the key to the off position then acc,then off again
the next time I started the engine the gauge worked for a few drive
cycles,its a short.
