I was just going by, it seemed he had to be moving in third or
fourth gear.

Still could be the rear UV joints, and that's a vaild thing to check.
When my main bearing was going the noise only happend when going up
hill in higher gear or when accelerating towing a load.

Still could be the rear UV joints, and that's a vaild thing to check.
When my main bearing was going the noise only happend when going up
hill in higher gear or when accelerating towing a load.

Still could be the rear UV joints, and that's a vaild thing to check.
When my main bearing was going the noise only happend when going up
hill in higher gear or when accelerating towing a load.

I recognize main bearing by their low knock on start up after an
engine that has been sitting, and again when the engine is like free
wheeling in about the middle of it's RPM.
