Well, at least you aren't tempted to (literally) lend a hand. Where
you going to find bearing retainer this weekend? Can you smooth out
the notch for a temporary fix?

thing is we had 0 Deg C here today and freezing rain. I feel for your
freind I had to crawl under mine many times over the years .... stuck
packing brakes / u-joints blown rads etc. A tarp and a few halogen
lights make a difference.

thing is we had 0 Deg C here today and freezing rain. I feel for your
freind I had to crawl under mine many times over the years .... stuck

I have used a tarp and my wifes hairdryer, anything helps.

A gent in a city not too far away has a used one. Going to take a drive
down there this afternoon after I get out of physiotherapy.

It is notched pretty bad and he really doesn't want to have to replace
everything again anytime soon.
