You can buy parts directly from Bestop. Don't go to the retailers.

Thanks for the good ideas, guys.
I did manage to have Bestop answer my [form based] email, (it took a few days) but after they heard
my story, they offered to sell a replacement direct.
I know a lot of the "stores" don't really want to bother with REAL customer servies (i.e. actually
helping a customer) if they can't simply press a button and have it pop out of some computer.
The concept of getting up off their butt and actually thinking how to solve a problem ---and then
doing something about it is pretty much a lost art.
But the bottom line is I'm ok.
