My last outing we had been driving for a couple of hours doing a huge loop late in the day, pretty heavy going for several sections. 1/4 mile from gravel exit road, we hit a beaver pond across the trail. No pics, wasn't as deep as your pic but we weren't real sure how deep it was. Either ford it of go back the way we came. My buddy finally made the decesion for me: "The winch cable is long enough to get to the tree on the far side, I'll wade across if we get stuck" Darn nice of him to volenteer, that was COLD water!!!
