Kudos to Rubicon Express!
I had a breakdown in the desert last weekend, and got some really
outstanding support from Rubicon Express. They really went out of their
way to help.
The problem was my YJ's U-bolts. I hadn't checked them in a long time,
and they were loose. Things got a bit "squirrely" coming down a steep
hill. At the bottom, I discovered the axle skewed, the centering pins
sheared, and an angle wedge was missing. I'm really glad it happened on
the dirt and not on the freeway.
Knowing it would be next to impossible to find lift parts locally, I
called Rubicon Express and ordered new ones. Here I am, out in the
middle of the desert, and by some minor miracle my cell phone is
working. This was 3:00 in the afternoon. I explained my situation, and
RE got the parts out by overnight mail. The parts arrived 10:00 AM. By
noon, I was back on the trail.
This was truly exceptional. The RE people went out of their way to get
me going again. I'll stop short of turning this message into an
advertisement, but I want to give credit where it is due. I am very,
very pleased.
