I second the caution with the ibuprofen. I had cronic pain in my
great toes and IB seemed to help - 400 mg /day - until the Dr. pointed
out that my kdney function had decreased substantially. Turns out IB
does affect the kidneys adversely. Made a good excuse to sit back and
put my feet up more often instead of popping the pills. For the kind
of all-over pain I find a good steam room - or just a long hot soak -
works wonders. Now, if I could just get the Dr. to prescribe a hot
tub...

Heat works just the opposite to those with pinched nerve. We have
to use anti inflammatory drugs to reduce swelling, the bodies attempt to
fix it by pumping blood to the irritation and lots of ice.
