Interestingly enough, studies show that concealed carry is an effective
deterrent to crime, and most of the states that have passed laws to allow
concealed carry in the past 20 or 30 years have seen crime drop. None of
them have seen crime or gun accidents increase.
Of course, this shouldn't be surprising, given that 99.9% of all gun owners
are safe and law abiding, and use their guns for self-defense, recreation,
hunting, collecting, and other lawful uses.

We aren't <asking> anyone to do ----... they're lining up to do it

You're right, the severe majority do a great job, but don't lionize
someone you're making a milliionaire by calling him a hero, He/she is
an extremely well paid public servent--who applied for the job... and
most cops never draw their weapon in the line of duty, let alone fire
it. Jjudging by the 120 shots fired at a stationary victim in Compton,
hitting him <four> times, and one of the other "heroes" once, this is
a good thing for the general public.
How many of those idiots do you suppose reloaded his gun so he could
keep firing?
