"we reached a height of almost 11,000 feet (gps said 10,979) and the
jeep ran as strong as it did at 3200 feet."

Sure - you installed a supercharger on your Rubi?

Other than that typo, great pics. I want to go to that area.

its right up the road from me, and i plan on making that trip as often as
possible. it was interesting to see more snow on the ground there in july than
we ever got in 30+ years in north carolina. some 15-20 miles down the road it
was 80 degrees.

>You are so lucky to be living there!!!!

believe me, i remind myself of that every single day. :-)

not a typo. the jeep performed with absolutely no noticeable loss of power at
nearly 11,000 feet.

<VBG>

I'll have to pop out a big map this weekend and see if I can remember some of the
other really neat spots we went to while I was out there. All of it was highway or
gravel, since I only had a 2wd pickup at the time.

I remember the guys (and gals) at the station all being amazed that I not only knew
what was wrong when my truck quit on me, but how to fix it. I didnt have the heart
to tell them how simple it was. we knew the fuel pump was going out but figured to
see how long it would last. When it finally died a few weeks after I got there I
just ran into Cody and got a new one and put it in, no big deal - it was a mechanical
one. heehee...

One thing you really should take the time to do at some point is to go up to Glacier
National Park. Anytime of year that you can. The first time I was ever there, I hit
Camroon Lake in Waterton (the Canadian 1/2 of the park) 3 days after the ice broke -
INCREDIBLE!!!! The place is fantastic. I've been up there a couple of times since,
and I still want to go back. I have always wanted to start driving up the Rockies,
down around Colorado or points south, and just go north....until I run out of
mountians! =)
